There ain't no cure for the summertime blues
The first day of work yesterday was just like a weird dream. Almost everyone working there is a guy. The guys are loud and the girls are demure. What I did all night was to be trained by a nepalese guy, both of us being the runners and serving the food all night. He taught me the names of the dishes and garnishing etc. I remember nodding so much I was like old Spencer in the catcher in the rye (holden said 'you never saw anyone nod as much in your life', one of the funniest moments in the book) I felt very detached. Whistling didn't help. And after the whole night I think So THIS is how a restaurant works! Bugger it I don't want to open a retro cafe anymore! So working for the next month will be like a series of weird dreams and after that I'll be dazed pulp. Like the pulp of classic comic books where the colours are in dots and the girl cries 'but I thought you loved me!' with a tear rolling down her beige-dotted cheek. If I get the liaison officer job from Nac, it will be one month of irregular, mad hours taking care of overseas performers. TTOW! (whatever it means)
Question: What are the things that are gonna SAVE you?
