Fly away, Spongebob!
TSD group prelims are over, and it was magical, and I don't ever want tsd to end. if anyone goes to do theatre professionally in the future, it will be entirely different. when you are a professional, there are even more politics involved, and it is a job, and very public and there is an 'industry', and people judge far more harshly. but in tsd, everyone is young and idealistic and bold and happy along with everyone else, and there is an excited idealistic crew that hardly know anything when they start and they simply follow the instructions of the equally idealistic performers or creators and in the end whatever is created and performed is very real and mad with love and with a queer magical young touch.
my grandmother is coming back tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!! apparently she and her friends were somewhere in the middle of canada, the friends she goes jogging with in the morning, a whole group of rather senile senior citizens, and they were trying to figure out what the time was!!!!!!!!!!!! some even wore 2 watches, one on each hand, so that they would know.
i went to my auntie's house tonight for the first time in years because she usually comes to ours. it was the auntie with 4 kids and my uncle is so easy-going and the children are daredevils and run wild and are flexible like gymnasts. i can't wait to have babies. i can't wait so much so that i want one now. spongebob is going to die soon. it is the spongebob carol and yu hui gave me. it floats around with only a palm-sized yellow smiley face weight to keep it down and it has been in my bathtub floating against the outside sky and clouds and stays eccentric in the workshop and everytime i see it i feel happy and it feels like a very good friend, or a son, and when we went to the beach i just continuously had to take photos of him, as if i really HAD to. the neighbour, this doctor, has a grandson called momo (whose mother is doctor's daughter and father is saudi arabian man), MOMO! it is his birthday today and i always wanted to make friends with him but haven't. they apparently blocked some roads in the estate and hired a company that has cars for kids to drive, for his birthday party. little lucky momo. on one of my children's birthday i will have a little family ceremony blasting music like 'daddy wasn't there' and shaving their heads off while the other kids dance around us, then we will frame up the hair and eat spaghetti bolognaise as a celebration and fall asleep on each other on a huge bed. my husband will secretly paint our faces like hippies and when we awake, we won't feel empty like people usually do after a day of celebration, but happy, and we will watch spongebob together and suntan together.
I'M SURPRISED, THAT YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TOLD BEFORE,
THAT YOU'RE LOVELY, AND YOU'RE PERFECT, AND THAT SOMEBODY WANTS YOU
by now my grandmother is in a plane, cruising along in space with her best friends. i hope she loves it, and that she learnt how to use the controls for the little tv and is enjoying some chinese show. it might just be the last plane ride of her life.
