1967 Summer of Love
All You Need Is Love

Hello. It is Sunday! Nowadays the day to catch up on work, supposedly desperately but then I just do it leisurely. Why, I haven't even begun. I'm reading TIME magazine on food intake and articles like that (this one is about 8 pages long) always amaze me! Particularly now because I have about 4 meals a day with snacks in between. I keep eating during breaks and sleeping early and its baaaaad. I feel absolutely SLUGGISH and immobile. I lie on the bed in the morning and don't move because I feel too much like a slug (feeling sluggish and contented are different) and end up falling asleep for a few more hours. and yesterday i discovered to me horror that i might be getting  a little ponch. and suddenly the weighing machine shows that i gained about 2 or 3 kg. i'm eating more than i have ever eaten in my life, and it is because of jc life. i must eat enough to feel okay and not sluggish!! i never used to be a sluggish person at all, so this is horrifying.

last week i borrowed ONCE THERE WAS A WAY: PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE BEATLES. it has photographs of them frm 1964 to 1966 and it is absolutely amazing!!!!!!! paul is adorable, lennon is intriguing, ringo is hilarious and george is odd. there are pictures of them practising, killing time in the hotel room, having a late night pillow fight, in concert and on the train in proper english suits. there are pictures of girls in messy bobs, cat eye glasses and screaming, crying, reaching out to them with signs that say 'give us a kiss' or 'we love you beatles'. when i read it on the bus it was admittedly the first thing i have ever read on public transport totally engrossedly without care of anyone around me and without any consciousness at all. last night i went to kinokuniya and looked at the whole section of beatles books and read the beatles anthology (by the beatles, extremely thick, $86 complete with everything the beatles say and many photographs) for half an hour and now i'm listening to the beatles '1', though i wonder why twist and shout wasn't a number one hit.
amazing piece of information:
sgt peppers' lonely hearts club band was meant to be a big production by the beatles. they remembered their childhood days when they'd go to the corner shop and buy these records and study and read them from cover to cover. they loved the value for money they got from studying the entire record, so they wanted to create something like that too, posing as the lonely hearts club band together with 'other members'- other celebrities whom they asked permission from, or people like hitler and all. it took months and turned out a fantastic record that gave people value for money along with a fine work of art which was the cover.
arent they just the loveliest band in the world!!!!!
