one special lad is gonna win the one-way trip to egypt, mate
super rollercoaster-like day like i've never had in, i can say, 4 years. maybe since old grandaddy (not that i called him that!) died. not that anyone died today. i didnt even quish a single ant today. simply that my old complacent self didnt get what the complacent self very deeply, badly, and desperately desired. with all the complacency and all, it was BECAUSE, i wanted it and well, thought i WOULD get it, which in fact i didnt! bravo.
whew. DEAD POET'S SOCIETY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COOL FATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (he even remembers the day and almost the time when he found out i existed! in my mother! the whole family was bloody excited! get it, bloody? endometrium? thick and spongy?)
we were driving back and the car now has super cool stereos and we were listening to michael buble and it was 'how can u mend a broken heart'.
he said, enjoy the slowness of the music, in his odd silly way.
and there was a minute strong glow of light in the blue-gray sky.
and suddenly i realised that the music didnt seem to be filling and wholly satisfying anymore.
and there and then i concentrated hard and i think i let it be.
that was odd and sad.
STOP THIS REVOLTING PENSIVE SULLEN MOURNFUL UGH MOOD, YOU!!!!!!!!!

oh merry christmas all ye faithful.
Who You Are
You're a hidden flower
You bring real passion to life. You're a woman of great integrity who'll stand up and fight for causes she believes in. You have a vision for the future and always are searching to find love and a sense of "balance" in your life. You refuse to settle long-term for a boring job or doing something just because it's expected of you. You have good friends and really appreciate the people in your life. You put the ones you love ahead of everything else. In fact, sometimes you can put them ahead of your own needs. You're overdue to bring real romance into your life and ready to experience a powerful "spark" with someone special.
What's dating all about to you?
Falling in love is a spiritual experience for you. A truly loving relationship helps bring meaning to your life. You try hard to make your date feel comfortable and have a good time. You're good at anticipating what other people need and giving it to them. But inside, you're usually on an emotional roller coaster. You don't want to reject nice men, but also take it very personally if you're the one rejected. You're constantly trying to find the "rules" for successful dating but often find they don't work.
You face two major challenges in finding the love of your life. First, because you're shy, you feel like you have to be someone else or "wear a mask" to go out and meet new people. You're left feeling like a distant observer, and men find it hard to truly understand you. Second, although your compassion for men is a very attractive quality, your focus on him can get in the way of getting what you want and need.
Do men like your type?
Notice that 38% of men are generally attracted to your personality type. 7% say they are VERY attracted.
Who You're Looking For
He'll be an enigma
You're looking for a man who can be your soul mate AND playmate in life! Unlike most men, he's not afraid of his emotions. In fact, the two of you will probably share an immediate, passionate connection. Romance will come easily to the two of you. The challenge may be fitting into his busy life. You'll have to share him with his adoring friends, job, and variety of social and community causes. But when you're alone with him, you'll always have his undivided attention and be the focus of his loving and supportive nature.
You don't expect your partner to be in a good mood all the time. You understand that sometimes your partner will be down, get pessimistic or worry too much. These days are balanced by the many good days the two of you will share. In fact, you share a number of positive qualities, including:
No strong similarities were detected, which suggests that you may be more attracted to certain "opposite qualities." Please read the next sections to see if you may be seeking someone with different or opposite qualities to balance your own habits and style.
Quirks men notice
Like all women, you have your strengths as well as your quirks and shortcomings. Ultimately, you want to find someone who will love and accept you "warts and all." Because you're a private person, it's especially important that you find a partner who understands.
You have a pretty even-tempered personality and may not have any especially annoying or quirky habits. Of course, seeming to be "perfect" could be seen as a flaw by some, in which case you may just want to pretend to have a bad habit!
Number of men your type
Men with the exact type of personality you prefer are rare gems. Looking at over 10,000 men who have taken this test, only 10% (or 1 in 10 men) have the exact combination of similarities and contrasts in personality you find extremely appealing.
However, there's a larger group, 34% (or 1 in 3 men), who have most, but not all, of the qualities and habits you like. These subgroups are charted below.
Approximately two-fifths of the men have at least some of the traits you find attractive.
But you'd have a negative reaction to 5% (or 1 in 20 men), who have some or many of the characteristics you clearly dislike.
Deal breakers
You seem ready to adapt to the good and frustrating qualities of the men you're looking for, but there are types of men you clearly do NOT like. Men's habits and attitudes you'd have a hard time putting up with include:
Men who lack an imaginative or creative side.
Men who have a strong need to make their plans ahead of time and stick to them.
Men who have little awareness of their feelings and base decisions, including relationships, on the "facts."
What does personality have to do with attraction?
The way in which people are similar or different in personality strongly affects their attraction to one another. Two people with similar values are more likely to become (and stay) friends or a couple, indeed part of compatibility is having "common ground." However, for many people, compatibility may also involve a balance between each other's quirks and differences.
splendid.

O glorious sunday afternoon!
and TOMORROW!!!!!!!!! the day i have been waiting and waiting and waiting for. finally!
its been a splendid week, what with jc talks and all. its dreadful to discuss jcs and everything. there was a period of time during the prelims where i thought about it till depression came. UGH UGH UGHHHH. enough. the tsd question is the thing now. theatre studies! if i take it, i will be a fully qualified theatrist!! part-director! part actor! part play-analyst! and full literature student. :)
and yesterday. -smirk- zee warm cosy retro bongies! yaaaay!
can't wait for house-warming party next year. perhaps around june! invite everyone i know and have a humongous party and annoy the neighbours!! i can be overall-in-charge, since my parents will be happy to let me be that, as long as i do nothing to embarrass them. hohoho. then i can secretly invite my brothers' friends over too. and it will be a hugggge celebration, where we can barbeque into the night, and shoot fireworks into the sky, and play water bombs, and people can just lounge around chatting and catching up with each other! and i'll have to deal with entertaining friends, relatives, parents' friends, brothers' friends, neighbours, bringing my friends to my room, AND being overall in charge!
what a dream.
and now, to lounge around my empire.
-throws feather boa at admiring crowd-
